What will become of our nation if we can't pull ourselves together?

What this will do to our nation, words cannot express. United we stand...Divided we FALL. New Orleans is one of, if not the most important port in the country. All shipments from the midwest travel through there. It would be a devastating blow to our nation. If they went Texas and a few others would most likely follow!

This would never be recognized by the government. Besides, session has changed since the civil war, making it next to impossible to realize the idea.

You know Sherlock, telling a large group of people that they can't do something because someone else doesn't like it, has never gone over to well for either parties. Our states are still sovereign and as long as that fact remains we have to recognize their reasoning and address that issue. These are scary times!

@skilletboy you realize the rest of the country is about to pay for NY and CA's bankruptcy right? I think you might have it backwards.

    Back to Pintrest, Skilletboy.

It'll happen eventually, as every nation eventually fails. This nation is becoming more and more polarized and like somebody else mentioned the fed will do anything to keep it together (post Civil-War). This necessitates a revolution/civil war which is where we are headed and why this petition begs for a 'peaceful' withdraw. Now if this petition had any traction, I'd be packing up for a move south instead of posting here but I can take solice knowing that countless others feel the same way I do.

HAHAHA this made me laugh this is a joke!! The state government has not set forth this petition. There are a ton of these petitions even places like New York which are obviously democratic. This looks to me like a group of disgruntled complainers that didn't get the election turn out like they wanted. This is slightly pathetic.
