For anyone in an adjacent state (OR issues to adjacent states only), I highly recommend visiting the Grant County Sheriff's Department and obtaining a non-resident permit. Sheriff Palmer is very, very pro-gun and his staff is great to work with. I stopped there on a trip through Oregon last year and had my non-resident permit waiting in my mailbox when I got home a week later.
