I really enjoyed this fella's writing. Nice article, and it echoes many of my sentiments. I grew up with the same sort of fondness, not obsession, with guns. In my family we have guns, we don't buy many, we never sell them, and we pass them to the next generation.

Same here. I've never sold or traded one. The three most prized in our collection are those passed down to us, including a Winchester Model 97 similar to the one the author is holding in the picture.
