But Crawford's argument that the private industry won't provide internet access except for the rich and at an extraordinarily high expense, is complete crap. This is the view point of either an economic idiot or a government activist...or probably both. However I do like that the article used her premise to assert an actual good idea. If we are forced to buy healthcare, why not be forced to buy a gun and ammo? It would reduce the social costs of crime that everyone else pays for indirectly: it would be state sponsered gun ownership....for the greater good!
I dont see how Obama Care and the internet are constitutional rights but some how, some where along the line we are intitled to these items, either by taxation or government take over.
It seems to me that Constitutional Rights are the ones that should be afforded to the citizens.
If the reasoning and logic of these people continue, shouldn't all of us be afforded the opportunity to have a car. Maybe the government can come up with a car like a 1930's type Volkswagon. It has been done before, and was temporarily successful. Im sure there are plenty of other ideas that we can float on the tax payers for those who dont contribute. Maybe I will write the President and tell him to supply Obama Cell Phones. Thats if they cant afford health care too.
But we are better then that. Maybe we can successfully combine Socialism and Fascism and make a better government.

Unless I'm misreading that, I would have to completely disagree.
Constitutional Rights are those GUARANTEED to the citizens. "Afforded" makes it sound like the gubmint gives them to us of their own free will.
