I will support any (reasonable) tax structure that allows the IRS to become irrelevant... I don't care what party is responsible, do away with the IRS and (don't just rename and rebrand it) I will give my support. I don't want this targeting to happen to anyone regardless of how much I disagree with their opinion. Someone should be in jail for this abuse of power.
Great post. By the nature of my job some years I spend more money in taxes then I will make the following year. It has been amazing that the years that I have done well I was always 'audited by mail'. Which is not a formal audit but they require every receipt that I generate and claim be copied and sent to them. THey also send a 'tax bill' they estimate you owe them. These never work in their favor. The last one was 175 pages and a bill from my Accountant stated they owed me $2K+.
The tax system is broken in the manner the common US citizen cannot decipher the laws that make it up. There are Accountants and Lawyers that exist for every individual that pays income taxes. And when I state this, I mean that you may not use an accountant but I am sure your employer does just to abide by the law.
