Would protocol dictate the president actually do something to help stop the problem rather than doing three fundraising events and ignoring the issue while in TX? I see your point, but I believe the president threw protocol out the window long ago. I don't blame the TX governor.
Perry can vigorously disagree with Obama and still respect the office, if not the man. That might have made Obama more inclined to accept the later invitation. I doubt it, I don't think the President is interested in addressing immigration issues the way boarder states want them addressed. Still, it is respect for the office.
I used to watch my mother do this to my dad all the time. They'd argue, she'd be wrong but then she'd goad my dad to lose his temper all then she had her magical trump card.
Who cares if Perry if couldn't or wouldn't meet the President? Why are we arguing about THAT and not the fact Barry-O refuses to enforce a border, respect our rights, or the other two branches of the gov?!
And of course the liberal media machine whips up some bull shit to continue to enable and excuse our sorry excuse for a leader.
I do respect the office and I can't speak for Perry (obviously) but this president doesn't show any respect for the office he holds and I will give examples if you wish. I am not aware of any precedence dictating a governor meet a president in his state if he is only going to that state to do a fundraiser. I can see there is probably some good in Obama but his value as a leader has long been gone. I think anyone who has any ideological difference with the president would be wise to respect the office by avoiding him completely. I see the value of what you are saying, I just have a different take and I'm not saying you are wrong...I should show more respect, I just can't.

Right there with you. Obama has bypassed The Constitution at entertain a criminal and traitor. In my opinion. I also don't see Bush as being much better when he was in office.
