Couldn't agree more. I think the thing I love most about his show is that not only is it playful, Jimmy manages to deflect everything positive on to his guests. He's always, ALWAYS deflecting any compliments towards himself and instead sending them right back to who he's interviewing. The previous generation of late night hosts were pretty wrapped up in themselves. It's the opposite for Fallon, which is why his show is so popular. A true gentleman.

I am not into lat night shows, only watching only occasion and, aside from not caring for Letterman, I don't feel strongly about any of them. However, wasn't Carson much like the description you posted of Fallon, playing to his guests strengths? I would like to think there might be a Carson-esque host again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it would give me an excuse to tune in.

Sorry, you're right. I was thinking more along the lines of Letterman/Leno. It's a breath of fresh air.

No, I completely agree. I never got to watch Carson (didn't have a tv for much of my growing up) but people he interviewed always have so many positive things about him. My interest in Carson has really grown from heading about him. I'll check Fallon out. Just hoping he doesn't pair up with Queen Latifah for a buddy cop movie...that would ruin it for me.
