I like the design and look but feel like it loses some flexibility by not using pegboard. Once you put all of the tools in place, it would not be easy to adjust for more items. That being said, if you knew exactly where you wanted everything to go, this would be ideal.
By the way, if he has that great shop, why did he cut the first board on the bed of a truck?

Yeah, agreed. I think it's a little pedantic to create a board with a custom slot for every tool. I will say that it is meant for hand tools and in a perfect world those won't really change over time. But yeah, you could also do the exact same thing with a pegboard by creating custom holders that mount via the pegs and still retain the flexibility.
I was also perplexed about the cutting on the bed of the truck. I guess a couple of sawhorses is too much to ask for a guy creating a custom hand tool wall?
