I didn't learn about this game until a couple of days ago. Now, all I see in my neighborhood are people with their phones out trying to catch these little buggers.

Until they close the gap on that major Google permission debacle, I would encourage people to stay away. Of course, I would encourage people to stay away from it anyway. There are far more entertaining and interesting things to be enjoyed outside.

I hear you. I haven't downloaded the game yet. I'd rather look at *actual* animals, but that's just me ;)

On the other hand, I'm glad that people who wouldn't otherwise be walking great distances every day now have a reason to, if only for a video game. Hopefully it fosters an appreciation for the outdoors. (Man, I sound old!)

It looks like they've pushed out a fix for the security stuff, if anyone is still interested:

I had not thought of that Glen. I agree that if it makes people walk more and hopefully leads to more outdoor activity, then why not?

PS - Thanks for the security update. I figured that would be forthcoming soon.

Yeah, it's not ideal... but it's better than sitting on the couch glued to the phone.

I wish I could take credit for the thought, but I'd heard it elsewhere.
