At first I was worried about what my Dad was going to do, as he loves VCR's (and cassette tapes). But not to fear, he has 5 machines that work, so I think that he is in the clear. ;)

I worked at a Curtis Mathes store in the 80s while in college. This was around the time the 4-head VCR was first released and people went gaga for it. I think those things sold for around $400+ back then. We would hook it up to a ridiculously large and obnoxious sound system and play the opening scene of "Return of the Jedi." That typically resulted in a purchase.
