Maybe the best article I've read on The Federalist in a long time. Sobering, important read. Especially the data near the end about the growing sentiment among millennials.

If you want to curb hate speech, you must first start with regulation and oversight of the media. They stir the racist/hate/terrorism pot more than anybody. Most people are parrots and mimic that which they see on TV. Leave the people alone and manage the mass outlets that spread misinformation and fear.

As a conservative I have a problem with super PAC's and do not agree with the notion that Citizens United protects the american individual. It has allowed tons of dark money to play in politics with no reprocussion. Frankly I am of the mindset that should allow unlimited political donations, but all have to be disclosed so you know who has essentially bought your political representative. The fact that super pacs do not have to disclose is crap.

Hmmm... I may or may not agree, I'm not sure to be honest. However, the more disturbing fact and main point of this article had little to do with Citizens United. Rather, the growing sentiment among both sides of the aisle on how everyone else's free speech should be curtailed. Especially hearing 33% of millennials think the 1st amendment is "outdated".
