An alligator dinner and some python boots? Sign me up.
Seriously, this problem is going to get a lot worse before it gets better and these sightings will become much more commonplace. The python population is going to explode in the Everglades and there will be no natural predators to control them. Hunting pythons is no easy task so even humans will not be able to do much.

These videos make me sad. For being a rare occurrence I seem to come across lot of videos of poor alligators being preyed upon by pythons.
Not that I wouldn't shoot either on sight. One as a prize and dinner, the other as pest elimination and boots.
