That was longer than expected but well worth the time. I agree about the tie in at the end, but I'd only add this: even though it only happened once, I'd bet the scenario has played out in his dad's head many times before.
A great reminder to me that the longest journey begins with the first step, but the it's in the mind where journey truly begins.
