My father and grandfather ran an excavation business. This was before backhoes so they used various draglines. The largest was a 75-ton Lima dragline that was affectionately called Big Nasty. It was huge and you could almost fit a Chevy S-10 pickup in the bucket. It was so big the tracks had to be removed and hauled on a separate flatbed trailer.

My father would load us up in the bucket and swing the machine around 360 degrees at varying speeds while also raising and lowering the bucket. Looking back, it was probably not the safest thing to do but as they say, just because it is a bad idea doesn't mean it won't be a good time.

For those who don't know what a dragline is, you can search YouTube for numerous videos such as this one.
