I thought the same thing but they do bottom to top to get more effective use of the soap apparently. I kept pointing to the very top, tilting my head, and saying "You missed some there. Go up a little higher. Nope, higher. Almost. OH! GIVE ME THE SPRAYER! I'LL DO IT." Yes, I said that to a computer screen.

This was very satisfying, except my inner monologue was screaming this the entire time:
"DUDE! Go TOP to Bottom! TOP TO BOTTOM!!"
