Excellent read. I lived in England in 75-76. Seems like racing was as big or bigger than rugby and football (soccer). I remember names like McLaren and Lauda and of course Sir Jackie Stewart.

My favorite Jackie Stewart story is when he tried to teach James "Cap't Slow" May how to go fast on Top Gear. Jackie always seemed a little impatient with James but you could see that Jackie understood the car and the course intimately and knew just how to drive. He's one of those guys who has left a humble mark on his industry.
