It's hard to express my hatred for homeowner's associations which micromanage your life on your own property, this just sums it up, rabble rabble rabble!
After going viral, a source familiar with the owner of the house has reported the issue was not over flying a flag after all. While there have been cases where homeowners associations have made rules about flying flags that wasn’t the case for this guy. He was protesting the fact that his windows were not up to historical code. He found no rules about what colors to paint his house so he painted it like this. Red, white, and blue did work with the zoning rules.
The Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005 ensures “that the right of an individual to display the flag of the United States on residential property not be abridged.”
