For Robochess or anyone that is interested in this question (the pattern of migration into the Americas by pre-historic peoples), the book 1491 by Charles C. Mann does an excellent job breaking it down and discussing almost every angle. (He doesn't, as some have, entertain the idea that Europeans settled the Americas first, then were replaced by those who became the Native Americans.)
