I may be showing my ignorance, but isn't just the equivalent of shaking hands in the Middle East? Obama's presidency has plenty of faults, but personally I consider this a non-issue.
In the islamic faith and in Sharia law you bow to someone who you see as being more powerful than yourself. It's also a religious sign showing the Islamic people that Barack Obama is a servant to those religious leaders. Now this could be the case, or he's just a blatant idiot who has no idea how much the Islamic people care about symbolism...
