That's right on the same day that a man half his age broke the sound barrier from the edge of space, the 89 year-old man who did it first does it again.

@ 4literranger485: When I was in the USAF, I pulled Chuck over on Edwards AFB. He was all over the road. Base Commander was with him and drove the rest of the way - Chuck was pissed at me. He has a reputation for not being the nicest of people.

I was at Edwards too and met Gen. Yeager a number of times. Yes, he could be a jerk but he could also be really nice. One time he had a tour of our squadron and then ate lunch with us. He sat at a picnic table and no one would sit with him. I'd just read his biography so I sat down across from him and tried to make small talk. "General, were the Me-262s really that fast?" He looked at me with a blank expression for a moment and said "They were jets!" I was intimidated but swallowed hard and said, "Well, yes sir, but they were really early jets. I was wondering if they were really that fast." He immediately lightened up and we chatted about them for a few pleasant minutes. Chuck Yeager is a man like the rest of us. He has his good days and bad, his nice side and his grumpy side.
