Look out Tesla, the motor city is launching its own all-electric automobile and they're resurrecting the old Detroit Electric marque, one of the first manufacturers of electric cars. The company's first car will be a limited edition (999 unit) two-seat roadster that aims to be the fastest all-electric production car in the world. Just how fast? The car will hit a top speed of 155 mph and a 0-62 time of 3.7 seconds, an impressive time that is comparable to some Ferraris and Lamborghinis. As for range, the SP:01 will be able to travel up to 180 miles and can be fully charged in 4.3 hours from a 240V/32A power source. Look for the SP:01 to arrive in showrooms this August. $135,000, Detroit Electric
