Definitely in my Top 10. Maybe Top 5 (never really thought about it.) On vinyl? I don't think it can get better. I don't really listen to mainstream country. Other than any given mainstream country song being played on the radio 50x a day, it doesn't really remind me of growing up in "Appalachia". However, country music fans should know this guy. He's half the age of our country music veterans and has the esteem and respect as if he were Johnny Cash. (And I'm fairly certain...Mr. Cash probably listened to him in his later days.) He wrote "Dancing when the Stars go Blue" in his late 20s and everyone's covered it since. Nothing will drive a person crazier than hearing, "I LOVE THAT TIM McGRAW SONG!" especially after you've heard the original.
