Pin it! So how long would it usually take to finish a dissertation? Usually these can be finished in a year or so, give and take a few days. But there are exceptions of course, which are of broadly two types. Suppose your dissertation requires data that can only be gathered in two years or a research that entails considerable amount of travelling which would take time.
