A nice little piece of escapism from William Dietrich. Though a little slow getting up to pace, the split then-and-now narrative provides decent adventure and action set mostly against a Tibetan backdrop. In fact, the plot builds right to the very end. Unfortunately the book seems to end a bit abruptly with little to no epilogue on the characters and their circumstances.
