Born in Mexico, raised in California, now based out of Alaska, Gustavo Rimada’s work reflects his proud Mexican heritage using combinations of Cholita style girls andMexican Folk Art, 50’s Pin-Up, and tattoo style design – nothing short of amazing work! Throughout school, Rimada took many art classes, it came easy. After graduating from high school, he attended The Art Institute in Santa Monica, Ca. and studied Computer Animation. While in school his heart strings were pulled when 9/11 happened. An army recruitment office grabbed his attention and within hours of walking in and sitting down, he was signed up to leave for boot camp in a few short weeks – art was on pause. After 5 years of no serious artistry, the tattoo world sparked inspiration for Rimada, his heart and hand took over, nothing has been the same since then.
