Every person in that picture should be tried for treason because of what they have done to this country. How convenient and insignificant are we to a man who literally raised our taxes while he was on vacation. Very tyrant-like, if you ask me. His arrogance is astonishing.

You do know it was the repubs who didn't want to renew those tax breaks, right? Comments and posts like this, about trying people for treason (which carries a death penalty) are what makes me really consider using this site which supposedly supports being gentlemen.

Wow... really Filadog? I get you're upset. But it's called democracy for a reason, not "everyone-gets-tried-as-traitors-that-disagree-with-me"...

    Whose the Tyrant?

We have to stop pointing fingers at each and accept that both sides will have to make some tough decisions that will come at the expense of some of their most cherished ideals and positions. Stop looking for blame and start looking for answers. There are many posts here about honor, duty, personal responsibility. They are not just interesting posts or posters. They are ideals to which we need to continually aspire. Sorry, ALL SIDES are to blame in this mess.

Not to beat a dead horse but, we are not a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. Most of the problems we are having these days stem from acting like a democracy(rule by the mob, take from that group and give it to this group) and not like a Republic(let us agree on a set of rules to live by, like say a 'constitution' and then leave each other the F@&$ alone unless we choose freely associate with one another.) If we want to be honest, 90 to 95 percent of the politicians in Washington and in our state capitols violate the constitution regularly. It's not that they are all treasonous,(although some of them doubtless fit the description) they just don't take it seriously.

I'm disappointed that weren't significant spending cuts; they need to come soon. With the budget deficit this country is currently facing, we need a mix of tax increases and spending cuts to pay down the debt.

Plus, don't forget that the payroll tax 'holiday' was intended as a short term stimulus. The rates were going to revert back to their previous levels at some point.
