When we think of solar panels we usually think of hulking great slates of metal with paneling which typically need to be fixed to point in the ground. The idea of a portable solar panel still holds an element of science fiction about it, but Voltaic Systems has been doing great things with portable solar panels and the Amp Solar Charger ($110) is their most compact yet.
The pack features two 2.0 watt solar panels that are waterproof and small enough to wear on a backpack. The new system comes with twice as much power and four times the battery storage, ensuring that when you are in the wild you can have your satellite phone and mp3 on you at all time.
