This guys has one of the most smartly modified TrailBlazers out there. His is the best example I know of adding what's needed and useful and leaving off what's showy and useless. This is what a trail vehicle should be.

    Roof tents are debatable. :p although as a backpacker, I kind of think most the guys car camping don't have a clue what ultra light means, lol. But James rig is nice and my model for how we are modding our Trailblazer.

    Yeah, I'm not sure I'll ever get one. I love the ease of setup, but I don't like that you have to pack the tent every time you want to use your rig. And the loss of space on the roof rack is tough to swallow. And then there's the mileage hit...

    And you're right. Those ExPo guys have no idea what light is, what with their three tables, six chairs, refrigerators, portable showers, portable toilets, etc.

    With twins on the way, I'm already thinking in terms of backpackers and moto touring: small, light, and few of them!
