I just received my first pair of these from the clearance at REI.com. Have had them one for the last couple of hours. I suggest you find these on sale somewhere and give them a try!

Yeah, just be careful running in them. If you're not used to "barefoot" running then you can hurt yourself if you try too much too fast.

I have been wearing, and using for over 2 years. They are so good for your feet. From trail running in CO, to walking around campus, these are the shoes for every day.

I love mine, but get ready for the stink! Recently asked the guy at REI what he does to minimize the smell and he suggested putting them in a ziplock and then in the freezer after every use. Another guy told me to use listerine to kill bacteria. Enjoy, and get ready for the looks and questions.

@Kevin: Thanks for the tip. It will work out perfectly for me to ease into them as I will be easing myself back into running. I will be sure to make the two go hand-in-hand.

@Paul: Glad to hear you enjoy them so much. After my first day of having them, I am already enjoying them. I naturally dislike heavy, clunky shoes. Anyone who knows me will tell you I slip into my nearest pair of sliders or my new Sanuks as soon as I get home. Glad I found something that gets me one step closer to no shoes.

@Dhornet: I am prepared for the looks! The ones I bought are some god-awful colors but I got them brand new at a great price (less than 40 before shipping), so I considered the looks and questions to be fair-trade. Thanks for the tips on smell. I will definitely give those a try.

I've got the KomodoSports and throw them in the washer about every two weeks. I think the key maybe to "stay ahead of the stink." Otherwise head to your local dive shop and pick up some "Sink the Stink."

Oh, and these are by far my favorite running / gym shoe.
