He's measuring greatness in material ways (important, but not the most important measurement).

My answer would be that America is the greatest country in the HISTORY of the world because of the idea we were founded on: that ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among these LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.

That statement says a lot about America: that our rights come from GOD and not a king; that ALL MEN are EQUAL; and that we have unalienable rights to LIFE and LIBERTY that can only be deprived through due process of law (saying that America follows the rule of law). And because America is based on VALUES and not bloodlines, ANYONE can be an American if they choose to accept our values.

True, America isn't materially the best country on earth right now. But we're still the best in ways that no other country can ever be.

"Humanism at it's ugliest. Great nations serve God - not themselves."

What? We're humans, let's be advocates for humans. I'm pretty sure your god can take care of himself.

I agree that this video comments on the material aspect of the country, but that is unfortunately where this country seems to be headed. It is incredibly frustrating how everything revolves around the latest and greatest thing to buy and that people can be famous for doing jack shit. Cooldude, I totally agree with you. I love the things our country was founded on, but we are very quickly losing the sense that we had and are headed for a very unfortunate state. I can honestly say, I am very worried about the environment my children will eventually be exposed to when they are my age even. I would love to see this country go back to those morals we were founded upon and not lose focus of what honest, hard work will get you instead of feeling the world owes us all something instead of us having realizing we need to earn our keep.
