Wow. Was that ever wrong-headed.
In what sense?
First, it ignores the one who spread Christianity more than any of the other Apostles, Paul. He was a scholar and he spread the church It needn't be either or.
Second, God wrote a book. And he did that in an era when most people couldn't read and weren't widely educated. To lead in that instance you needed to be somewhat of a scholar. Miller makes the mistake of limiting his approach to the Gospels and not he entire NT.
Finally, Peter was a fisherman but read his epistles. He became a teacher because Jesus told him to, "go, make disciples of all the nations, TEACHING them to obey..."
