Of course, in that theory, we wouldn't want to mention the vast sums of GRANTS that scientists get... would we? Wouldn't be conducive to the narrative!
Yeah, because Scientists use Grant money, (which has no oversight whatsoever, apparently) to pay themselves millions, purchases mansions and Ferraris. They hardly use Grants to fund their labs, equipment, consumables, postdocs, or graduate students to conduct research which brings about all types of useful technology or just plan enlightenment about how the world works. I guess those Scientists have really pulled a fast one on us.....
