Established in 1972, Buffalo National River flows freely for 135 miles and is one of the few remaining undammed rivers in the lower 48 states. I have the pleasure of living less than two hours from this natural gem and floated 11.5 miles of it today in my kayak. To learn more, visit http://www.buffaloriver.com.

Where do you start? We try to make it at least every other year and start near Ponca. Incredibly beautiful area.

@glen - Today we launched at Ponca and floated to Kyle's Landing. Let me know the next time you come down. Would be honored to buy you a beer and/or float the river with you.

@Razorback - That's our exact route :) We used to camp at the Lost Valley trailhead until a flood ruined it a couple of years ago.
I'd be happy to saw howdy next time we're down. Don't think it will be this spring though (but maybe).
