This is awesome. He's setting a great example for his grandson. The world needs more people like him who are willing to take a stand for what is right, even against those they love.

Sorry, but I disagree. First, you don't know the other side of the story. You don't know what the conditions were that got the son kicked out. As it is, the mother has just as much right to stand up for her own beliefs as her gay son. That doesn't mean she hates her son or that she is a hateful person. It would be really nice for all the "open minded" people to stop being so narrow minded stating their view point is the only correct view point. I personally don't hate gay people, but I heartily disagree with the decision, and yes it is a decision.

You've apparently never spoken with a single gay person in your life. At least not an honest conversation.

Thank you for proving my point. Making ridiculous assumptions like that with absolutely no basis. Actually my niece is gay. And yes we have talked and yes we disagree. But there is love and there is respect.

Seriously, how can you possibly disagree when she says that it's not a choice?!? You presume to know what's in her heart and soul? That, sir, is arrogant. I'll correct my statement: You've apprantly never spoken with a single gay person AND UNDERSTOOD A WORD THEY WERE SAYING.

More assumptions from someone presuming to be the only correct person on the planet. Thanks for your replies, but ER obviously have nothing to talk about.

It's not a decision. Did you make a choice to be attracted to women? Or was it in your nature?
Also, IF it were a choice, why would a number of people choose a lifestyle that they don't want, where others will persecute them?

What I don't understand about folks who support the "rights" of the LGBT community is why they don't respect the beliefs of those who disagree with them. They support "expressing yourself" and sticking to your beliefs......as long as all of it falls in line with what they think. If it doesn't, then you're a bigot or "homophobic". How about "heterophobic", tradition phobic or hatred for a traditional life style?
