K2LD Architects faced the prospect of building a luxurious house on a plot of land surrounded by other residential buildings. No problem you may be thinking, but the company had to decide how to keep privacy in the house as well as for the neighbors. Of course, the current design trend of glass, glass, and more glass went out of the window, so to speak, so the architects came up with the Screen House.

The result is a contemporary, large (6,350 square feet), and high concept house that incorporates a circular design as opposed to a traditional angular look. The outside space is hugely original and makes perfect use of the space to create an almost futuristic garden complete with out-buildings and a dazzling pool.

K2LD used plenty of natural materials to create a finish that looks environmental and at one with nature, especially thanks to the large amounts of wood on display both inside and out. The interior was “consolidated” into one fluid space, and while glass has not been overused it has been draped along the rear of the house to allow floods of light to enter.
