You can count this avid car fan as someone who welcomed the original Range Rover Sport with trepidation. How could they mess with the classic Ranger Rover I thought, but luckily my fear was pointless because the RR Sport is a fantastic mix of sporty fun and off road prowess. Now the guys at Startech have got their hands on the 2014 model and added their typical twist of ferocity to proceedings.

So what is the Startech twist you may be asking. If you are unfamiliar with the name, all you need to know is that this is the brand long term Mercedes-Benz tuner Brabus uses when doing other cars. So for all intents and purposes this is a Brabus Ranger Rover Sport, which should be enough to whet your automotive appetite. The company widened the car by 2-inches and added 23-inch ceramic coated wheels to give the Sport a more hunkered down and formidable look. Under the hood purrs a 3.0 twin turbo V6 engine that now churns out 323 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque. 60mph is brought up in just 7 seconds thanks to that chunky motor.
