Love this story. When I was about 9 or 10, we moved to a new house. There was a retired elderly couple next door. The husband, Chet, who was also a WWII vet, taught my brother and I all sorts of things. He often took us fishing and even let us operate his prized model train collection. His wife would bake us all sorts of goodies. In short, they treated us like we were their grandchildren. It made the move much easier on us. They were good people and I am better for having known them.
