But I understand the mindset you were illustrating. There is a lot of entertainment to be had that does not cost in dollars earned and spent.
My go to cheap fix is the awesome box kite I bought from Eddie Bauer many years ago. A sunny, windy day and the park in front of the Art Gallery with that kite has given me plenty of smiles on the cheap. Otherwise, I'll just take your word on the sexy red nail polish.
