Posting here, not to ruffle feathers but because I think President Coolidge puts forth some ideas that I do not see in the public discussion (which does seem to be highly emotional at times) but are worth considering.

This isn't posted to support or detract from either political side; merely as a thought piece and a brief study of history. I don't think any leader wrestled with easy issues in their day, no matter how easy the issue may seem to us who are farther removed by time.

If immigration is a hot button topic that is highly emotional for you, please don't read this. Thank you.

    The reason you don't hear those thoughts these days (apart from some conservative commentators) is it is drowned out by the screams of "RACIST!" from the screaming harridan's who think that shouting is what makes their POV the correct one.
