I can definitely attest to the upside of things like using two-factor auth for your email and locking your phone. They are relatively easy to set up and make your security significantly stronger. That said, some of these things seem like overkill, or more of a hassle than a major benefit. Although, security levels are a personal preference thing so I can see someone doing all of these things.
