This is a great article and sounds like Budweiser is being patriotic and following George Washington's original recipe, until you get to the end of the article and read where they say they are brewing the beer with toasted barley grains and finishing it off with a hint of molasses. Basically - They are ignoring George Washington's recipe and trying to replicate the flavor using other techniques.
