“Smart” ....doesn’t mean what GE seems to think it means. Is this really a thing? Are there smart bulbs now? Why? Why would this even be necessary? Are we being trolled by GE?
So many questions, yet I feel there might be no good answers.
Easy now, I just told my computer "Set the den lights to one hundred percent" and it did. :) Yes, there are smart bulbs and they're useful. However, to reset mine I just have to flick the switch on and off three times in a few seconds. GE lost their minds in making this one so difficult to reset.
“I just told my computer” Nope. That’s where it is too much for me. Great if it works for you and others, and I can see the benefit for someone who travels often and wants to manage things from afar... but not for me.
My light bulbs are smart enough for me... they go on when the switch goes up and off when it goes down.
(And I’m not following the “apply directly to the forehead” comment, I feel like there is some humor there that I’m missing.)
See, you're not as lazy as I am. I get to the bedroom, turn off the light and see light shining down the hallway because I forgot to turn off a light. I tell Siri to do so I don't have to walk down the hallway.
Sorry about the Apply Directly to Forehead reference. It has been a while but it was a commercial and the FDA wouldn't allow the company to make some of the claims they were trying to make so they scratched the claims and went with the application instructions. The result is hilarious.
I know it’s silly, but smart things annoy me, and I’m not paranoid about many things, but... Skynet & The Matrix. May be the height of silliness, but smart” technology makes me uncomfortable.
However good memes provide succor to the soul. And for that, I thank you.
