I don't get why Zimmerman's race is of any importance. He clearly held a prejudice against blacks, regardless of what race he identifies with.

I think I heard on the radio today that Zimmerman actually tutored poor black kids for free on the weekends occasionally. I'm not sure if that means he's racist. Regardless, this should have been a local story, not a national one. And I'm kind of embarrassed that I'm even bothering to comment.

The Trayvon Martian on the bottom is a different boy of the same name in Georgia who is alive and well.

Zimmerman's race matters because if he's something other than "white", Sharpton/Jackson/Farrakhan and Lee won't be able to gin up the appropriate amount of racial discord.

The guy is mexican and cuban. I mean apparently where I come from (about 30mins from where the shooting occured) if you're a minority you dont count as a racist.

I do not worry that the media will continue this sort of thing and interfere with the American dialog, I worry that the media will continue this sort of thing and become irrelevant. Then, society will be without any form of mediation and balance. And that does not end well.
