...Rebuttal: Mr. nyebuckeye, thank you for posting your comment. I am actually a 38 year old father (young at heart) of two who has been gaming for many years and has owned many gaming systems since the Atari 2600. I even "game" with my kids. I also grew up on Nintendo and loved Mario. However, over the years, you must admit the plethora of systems that Nintendo has doled out have been ridiculous. The NES and the Super Nintendo were great systems. But think about the systems that have come out since and the software support to justify these systems. How many truly great games were there for the N64 to justify buying one? The Game Cube? My Wii continues to collect dust. And yes, there are a few great first party “Mario” games for it. However, I would not justify buying one with the type of third party software support it has. How many versions of the DS do we need every year? (DS, DS Lite, DS XL, 3DS, and a rumored bigger 3DS coming out)….and we are just talking about handhelds. Don’t get me wrong, Sony and Microsoft are also guilty. The Kinect for the Xbox and Playstation Move, in my opinion, are failures (look at the quality of software and the applications). However, Sony and Microsoft have a plentiful library of quality first party and third party games that you don’t see with Nintendo. It seems over the years, Nintendo has been the biggest of all 3 evils with gaming systems and quality of software. So yes...$$$...The gaming times are changing, and Nintendo must change with it. I apologize for hurting your Nintendo-laden feelings.

Not to mention that NONE of their consoles have been backwards compatible... Big draw back. Can't even play the great classic games on the newer consoles. They just change too much too often.
