Your Blogspot photo shows a blade with a serrated edge, which I find very handy. I carry a 4", tanto-pointed Gerber very similar to this so I'd say this is a good choice in a general purpose knife!
Yes, I choose two different blade types. The one I personally own is the non-serrated (I would prefer to have serrated). Overall a great knife to have. Will likely pick up another just to have around. Worth buying for the price!
