I don't care so much about the landing over shadowing the games. But it is an amazing feat, period!
'duuude' the reality is the computer you are using and the phone in your pocket is a result of trips like these and the inginuity behind the inventions that make these possible. 2500$ is small change compared to the trillions of dollars given out to mega corporations. If the politicians cared for the people more then their comrades they would have divided those trillions of dollars between the 300 million people of the us and given us all a million dollars and still had multiple times that amount left over. If every person in the us was given a million dollars, do you think our economy would still be sputtering along?

Paul, I agree with you on most of the points you made -- it is an amazing feat for sure, and the government shouldn't have given / continue giving trillions to favored corporations and such either.

That being said, $2.5 billion definitely isn't small change, period. Also, technological innovations occur in the private sector all of the time -- our tax dollars aren't necessary for that to happen.
