I'm well aware of what he's using as he's using as his measuring stick for the situation. What I take issue with is the implication that my committed relationship of 3 years is in some way not as good or right as his because we've decided it's not yet time for us to get married, though I feel we gladly would if our current situation permitted. More so, the implication that my girlfriend is in some way a harlot, floozy, or charlatan, or that I'm in this for some sort of "pathetic sexual conquest" is frankly offensive.

If waiting till marriage worked for him, that's all well and good; I take no issue with it. It's unfortunate that the people the author chose to surround himself decided to take issue (though I have to wonder how much of it was legitimate condemnation and how much was simple ribbing). But I will not condone this kind of blanket view on a great number of people that the author has never met.

Am I required to "wait" until marriage becomes legal in my state? Where does this leave me and my boyfriend? Are we required to move in order to get married in another state or country that believes in freedom and equality for all citizens? The audacity of one human to say their chosen way is the only "right" way for all humans is appalling and sad, but his smug tone and sarcastic words show how much he truly cares about others who do not believe in his "right" way. I am sure his God is very proud of him.
