This is actually a demonstration of rotational precession, but momentum is a part of that.

My God. Where was this guy when I took Physics in college? I absolutely hated Physics and would have gladly taken Organic Chemistry twice to get out of taking Physics once. This guy, however, might have made it fun.

This isn't my alma mater, but my physics program had a physics education program for physics teachers at all levels. The idea was to collect all the cool ideas for classroom demonstrations and make them more widely known. A lot of stuff like this gets passed around on http://www.phys-l.org/
