Yeah this comes up and has more recently in the Ham Radio/Amateur Radio community. There has been a lot of 'over the horizon' radar that the Russians have used for a long time. The activity has picked up in the past few years. There are sound like a 'foghorn' and 'woodpecker' on certain bands. This is viewed as interference by the international Amateur Radio community. The Chinese and Cubans like to broadcast propaganda after hours which is somewhat entertaining.

Anyway the digital community is slowly discovering Ham Radio and its cool possibilities. Coding and old school radio are making something new. I hope it does as Ham Radio has been dying for years.
