    This was originally designed and made by Beretta, so it's a solid design and it's very well made. Beretta bought Stoeger a few years back, and moved the Cougar's production over to them, to make room for Beretta's newer "Storm" line of pistols.

    Personally, I'd take a Cougar (in 45acp) over a Storm any day. The fact that it's also cheaper to buy is just a bonus!

    @ BCV, some guys just don't like plastic! That's why. Beretta (Stoeger) makes a fine steel and alloy gun that will last lifetimes.

    Personally, I think the last decade of production of Smith & Wesson's 3rd generation auto-pistols, were better than their current licenced Glock clone M&P line.

    I certainly prefer the crisp clean break of the trigger on a 3rd gen Smith auto, or my Beretta M96, over the spongey trigger feel of a M&P or Storm!
